Tours in Guimaras! Let Us Be Your Tour Guides! My wonderful Filipina wife, Melinda, and I would like to invite you to beautiful Guimaras island, known through out the Philippines for its sweet mangoes and gorgeous sandy beaches. My wife is a native of Guimaras, and we retired here last July 2009. There are so many interesting and exciting places to explore in Guimaras, and we would like to explore those places with you. Here are the tour packages we currently offer. We have been to all of the locations listed on our packages, and highly recommend visiting these locations. We do not receive any form of reimbursement from anyone for the sites listed on our tours.
- If you plan to visit Guimaras, and would like a personal guided tour around this fantastic island and don’t want to go on one of our structured tours listed below, we are available to show you or your group around Guimaras for a flat fee of $50 USD per day. That fee does not include any extras that are offered in our tour packages such as transportation or food. That’s $50 for the group, whether it be one person or twenty, our guide fee is just $50 for the day.
- Reservations should be made in advance as we have many visitors to Guimaras expressing an interest in our tours and are planning to visit. A deposit of $25 is required for the $50 a day no-frills tour explained above. The remainder of the tour fee is payable on arrival. $75 (US Dollars) for one person. Each additional person 30 USD. Each tour group will be personally led by my wife and myself, and is a day long tour.
This price includes the following:- Pick-up from the dock at Jordan in Guimaras
- A visit to our home in San Miguel
- Transportation to Raymen Beach
- Payment of Beach Entrance Fee
- Rental of private Beach Hut for the day
- Delicious Chicken or Fish Lunch from the Resort
- Transportation back to the Jordan dock
Raymen Beach Resort does offer overnight accommodations with fan rooms priced from P600 to 2000P depending on the number of occupants, and air con rooms from P1200 to P1600 each night. Our tour package does not include overnight accommodations, and we do not receive any compensation from any of the establishments on our tour.

Cottage at Valle Verde Resort THE TRAPPIST MONASTERY TOUR & VALLE VERDE MOUNTAIN RESORT
The Trappist Monastery is located just outside of our town of San Miguel. A peaceful place run by monks of the Cistercian Order of the Strict Observance. My wife and I visited the monastery and loved roaming the grounds and conversing with the friendly monks. The church on the grounds is so beautiful. The monks sell a range of products such as delicious jams and jellies to help support the monastery and a stop in their souvenir shop will certainly be included in this tour.Carved in the heart of a dense jungle, is the beautiful Valle Verde Mountain Resort. My wife and I visited this lovely resort located near her birthplace, about 30 minutes from our current home in San Miguel in Guimaras. Valle Verde has a mountain spring that you can take a short hike to, and a refreshing modern pool if you want to go for a swim. Wonderful scenic views of a nearby inlet and the lush green vegetation of the jungle surrounds this unique resort. My spouse and I loved visiting this resort and highly recommend it.

The Valle Verde Resort offers a wide range of overnight accommodations for those that would like to stay overnight. Prices range from cottage or tree houses (yes, tree houses!) for P500 overnight for two and up to P1500 for a cottage with three beds and air con.

Iloilo City is the gateway to Guimaras. The pump boat from the Ortiz dock in Iloilo to the Jordan wharf in Guimaras is a fifteen minute excursion. The Iloilo City International Airport is about 40 minutes or so from the Ortiz dock depending on traffic conditions. If you take a boat to Iloilo the main dock area is about five minutes from the Oritz dock to Guimaras. The airport is outside of Iloilo City proper, and the taxi cabs at the airport will try to charge you the posted rates at the airport to go to various locations in Iloilo. Merriam Transport has vans stationed in the parking lot straight across from the airport parking lot. They only charge 50 pesos per person and will take you to SM City where you can catch a taxi to the Ortiz dock for Guimaras at a cost of around 70 (about $1.60 USD) to 85 pesos ($1.94) depending on traffic conditions. The best rate we have negotiated with cab drivers at the airport is 350 pesos ($8 USD) which is much lower than the airport’s posted rates.
